Replacing CTIA’s “Super Mobility Week”, an estimated 30,000 mobile industry professionals and top-tier media representatives are gearing up for the premiere of GSMA Mobile World Congress Americas which will take place in San Francisco, CA from September 12th through the 14th. The agenda for the week is packed with a broad range of conference programs featuring C-level executives from established industry giants, aside a massive exhibition floor where companies operating in all areas of the mobile ecosystem will be flaunting their products, services, and innovations.

The first event of its kind, MWC Americas is anticipated to replicate the success experienced by sister shows Mobile World Congress and Mobile World Congress Shanghai. With keynote speeches and conference sessions carefully designed to address relevant and specific challenges in the world of digital and mobile technologies, there will certainly be no shortage of information to be absorbed. Here are a few topics that we predict will prominent on the show floor:

  • Rules and Regulations – It is no secret that the expansion of IoT has prompted the requirement for policy around things like privacy, security, and even spectrum allocation. And, with a keynote presentation from Ajit Pai, Chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission, there is sure to be healthy discussion around the various approaches to regulating breakthrough wireless technologies.
  • Next Gen Networks – Expect the buzz around 5G to continue at MWC Americas - with an abundance of sessions fixated on 5G, it will be interesting to hear from the experts and to decipher the hype from actuality. Additionally, we foresee other buzz-worthy technologies related to LPWAN and emerging standards of LTE to generate significant interest.
  • Role of Mobility in Sustainable Development – As one of the “2017 Event Themes”, industry leaders will be concentrated at a single location presenting the opportunity to share ideas and opinions as to how mobile technologies can be leveraged to help obtain the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. A unique and impactful element of technological innovation – we hope to learn of new developments contributing to a greater, greener planet.

In between sitting in on keynote speeches, presentations, and panel discussions, KORE is excited to announce that two of our own executives will be participating in conference sessions:
