KORE Connections: Shin Gill | VP, Commercial Strategy & Strategic Partnerships

At KORE, we love shining the spotlight on the many leaders and innovators who work daily to bring you top tier connectivity solutions. This month, we give the stage to our very own Shin Gill, KORE’s Vice President of Commercial Strategy and Strategic Partners.

Born and raised in England, Shin began his career in offshore private banking before pivoting into technology, driven by a passion for innovation and a desire to make an impact on the frontlines. He’s held global leadership roles across Europe, Canada, and now the United States, where he continues to shape global go-to-market strategies and commercial transformation.

Outside of work, Shin enjoys traveling and spending time with his family (Wife, Daughter and Australian Labradoodle) and enjoys the occasional weekend 20km run to recharge both mentally and physically.

Q: What is one of your favorite memories as a parent?
One that stands out deeply is the journey of my daughter, who was born prematurely with a congenital heart condition – Tetralogy of Fallot. Her first few months were spent in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the United Kingdom, and at just six months old, she underwent open heart surgery.

To see her now nine years old, thriving academically, competing at a high level in soccer, and bringing such positivity to those around her is truly humbling. It’s a reminder that strength doesn’t always come from age or experience. We often speak about parents inspiring their children, but in my case, it’s my daughter who inspires me. Her resilience and joy, despite such a challenging start, is something I always hold close.

Q: What about your career would shock your younger self?
I think my younger self would be shocked by how global my career journey has become. For someone who grew up in a small town (Burton-on-Trent, UK), it was alien to me to ever even consider anywhere far afield.

Over the years, you learn to move out of your comfort zone and take more risks. I have had several pivots, setbacks, and unexpected doors that opened along the way. My younger self thought careers were linear, but I’ve come to learn they’re anything but, and that’s what makes the journey meaningful.

Q: What inspires you?
Achieving one’s potential is what truly inspires me. We all have untapped capacity, and when you look at how we’ve evolved as humans, it’s clear just how far we can go when we challenge ourselves and the status quo.

For me, it’s about constant growth, performing at the highest level, pushing boundaries, and working alongside some of the sharpest minds in the industry. One of my favorite books, Atomic Habits by James Clear, captures this perfectly. It’s the small, consistent actions done with intent that drive meaningful outcomes. That daily discipline is what shapes who we become and the impact we create tomorrow.

Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
I always find 10 years a long horizon to predict with certainty. If you had asked me back in 2015 where I saw myself, I could not have predicted the past 10-year journey. I tend to stick to a 3 – 5 year vision; constantly evaluating whether I’m on the right trajectory and how my present actions can influence the future.

One thing I know for sure is that I would like to see myself in good health both physically and mentally, living the best version of myself. Professionally, I see myself leading at a level where I’m not only driving transformation and growth at scale, but also creating space for others to lead, rise, and build lasting impact.

Q: What has been one of the most important lessons you have learned in your career?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that everything in life and in your career is temporary.

When things are going well, take the time to truly enjoy the wins. Celebrate the success, the recognition, and the moments when everything seems to align. However, I also understand that those high points don’t last forever, and that’s okay.

Equally, there will be times when things stall, when you’re laid off unexpectedly, momentum slows, or self-doubt starts to creep in. These are the moments that challenge you and often, they’re the ones that define you.

The key is to stay grounded during the highs and resilient during the lows. Show grit, stay true to your values, and keep doing the work. Often, the next opportunity, the one that changes everything, shows up when you least expect it.

Q: What is something in your personal life that you are extremely proud of?
Resilience, determination, and tenacity – these qualities were shaped early in my life. At 17, while studying for my A Levels in the UK, I was removed from my mathematics group. At the time, my teacher felt I wasn’t bright enough or good with numbers. It could have shattered my confidence, but instead of letting it define me, I used it as fuel.

Fast forward to my late twenties – I had not only earned a First-Class Honors Degree in Business Management, but I also qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), having studied evenings and weekends while working for one of the world’s leading private banking firms in Canary Wharf (London, UK).

In life, there will always be people who try to put you in a box, who tell you what you can or can’t achieve. We must remember we’re all responsible for writing our own story, and one thing’s for sure, I’ve still got a few chapters left to write!
