The Challenge

INVOLI was confronted with the challenge of the lack of affordable, low-altitude airspace surveillance. This gap is critical for BVLOS drone operations, small airports, and infrastructure managers, as existing surveillance solutions are prohibitively expensive and primarily focused on high-altitude monitoring. This left many airspace users underserved and struggling to meet operational and regulatory needs. INVOLI required reliability, comprehensive coverage, and strong integration capabilities. Key requirements included redundancy in carriers (multiple carriers for the same geographical area), robust assistance, and cost-effective pricing. These criteria were essential to ensure consistent, real-time data transmission and effective airspace surveillance across diverse locations.

The Solution

INVOLI chose to partner with KORE due to their reliability, extensive coverage, and strong integration capabilities. KORE’s standout features included the ability to provide redundancy with multiple carriers in the same geographical area, exceptional assistance, and competitive pricing. These factors were crucial in ensuring seamless and effective airspace surveillance for INVOLI’s operations. INVOLI implemented KORE’s OmniSIM Rush eSIM solution to address their unique IoT application needs, which necessitated substantial data transfer for multilateration. These solutions provided the necessary large bandwidth and redundancy with multiple carriers, ensuring reliable, real-time data transmission.

Results

The implementation of KORE’s OmniSIM Rush resulted in significant benefits for INVOLI. This included ease of use for SIM Provisioning and a unique platform to manage all connectivity needs with global operations. The streamlined processes ensured reliable, high-bandwidth connectivity, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of INVOLI’s airspace surveillance operations. INVOLI is still in the initial phase of deployment and product commercialisation, however, the INVOLI reports satisfaction with the current performance of the solutions provided by KORE.
