Start the New Year at CES for Top Tech and Trends

4 minute read

The New Year is just around the corner and along with it bring exciting opportunities and trends for the Internet of Things. One way to kick off 2023 with IoT is to attend CES either in person at its location in Las Vegas or virtually – KORE will be on the floor and presenting during CES January 5-8.

The Strategy of Things

KORE will be presenting a keynote presentation at the IoT Infrastructure Pavilion during IMC’s IoT Week at CES discussing the Strategy of Things.

IoT is well positioned to enhance many operations and processes from industrial and supply chain to healthcare and fleet management. Many emerging and maturing technologies will converge with IoT to create even more effective solutions that can power the current requirements of use cases and future applications. These technologies include artificial intelligence, mobile edge computing, network slicing, 5G, private LTE/5G networks, eSIM, and much more.

Those implementing IoT still undergo challenges and roadblocks that have prevented IoT from proliferating as anticipated. KORE SVP of North America Pete West will explain in his keynote presentation that strategy is the common thread lacking to support IoT solutions from start to scale.

Stop by the IMC booth at the IoT Infrastructure Pavilion at CES on January 5 to learn more about the five building blocks needed to create a winning IoT strategy.

Satellite Connectivity

One challenge to global IoT solutions is gaps in connectivity whether it’s by rail, air, or sea. Low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites are emerging as opportunities to bridge those gaps so that devices can connect to the Internet worldwide.

The 3GPP Release 17 has created a standard for satellite networks to connect with handheld devices, which is anticipated to be available sometime in 2024. This opens a new opportunity for devices to have two-way communication with both cellular and satellite connectivity. And while 2024 is still a year away, the race to create devices and necessary infrastructure to support this new approach to global connectivity is already underway.

KORE EVP and CTO Tushar Sachdev will join a panel of experts on January 5 from 2 to 2:40 p.m. PST to discuss the world of connectivity and the importance of strategizing and managing multi-technology connectivity.

Connected Health

KORE Vice President of Connected Health Dan Cebula will tackle the topic of “Healthcare IoT: Wearables, Apps, and More” on January 6 at 10:30 a.m. PST at the IMC Booth #11155 with other industry experts. This panel discussion will discuss the future of connected health applications.

As technology for connected health IoT becomes more widespread and the demand to shift to remote patient monitoring or decentralized clinical trials permeates, the opportunity for connected health will increase, but so will the challenges. Data privacy and security are two of the top hurdles faced in connected health, as well as technology complexities. Join the panel discussion to learn more about future trends and how to manage challenges.
