Managing network shutdowns and migrating to newer cellular generations of 4G LTE or 5G is the same as any large-scale project. However, planning diligently and in advance of shutdowns allows for a more seamless transition. For IoT in utilities and energy, the more planning, the better because any downed network communications might lead to service interruptions.
