KORE Secure eSIM Wins Product of the Year Award

6 minute read

KORE’s OmniSIM SAFETM pairs device-level security with global, future-proofed eSIM design

ATLANTA –  (Jan. 12, 2023)KORE (NYSE: KORE), a global leader in Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and worldwide IoT Connectivity-as-a-Service (“CaaS”), today announced its secure eSIM solution, OmniSIM™ SAFE, has been selected as a winner of the “M2M Product of the Year” by IoT Breakthrough.

The OmniSIM SAFE solution pairs the global zero-touch provisioning capabilities of eSIM with industry-standard security design that allows for device-level security – an innovative new approach that meets the challenges of international, carrier-agnostic, secure connectivity for IoT use cases.

With OmniSIM SAFE, which is a part of a full eSIM suite from KORE, the GSMA IoT SAFE standard provides chip-to-cloud security, streamlining the ability to place security at the forefront of solutions.
“With eSIM adoption on the rise, KORE is excited to meet what is expected to be huge customer demand with an award-winning product. We first launched our IoT SAFE SIM working with Energy Web, a nonprofit organization that builds operating systems for energy grids. Energy Web leveraged OmniSIM SAFE as a hardware wallet anchored to an open-source, publicly accessible blockchain powered by Energy Web,” said Romil Bahl, President and CEO of KORE Wireless. “We are proud to say that this is the world’s first eSIM-enabled secure data exchange for smart grid players. This has the potential to become a high-growth use case as more smart energy grid utilities, operators, and smart city players find a simple and common blueprint to meet the needs of future grid and energy demand.”

This is the seventh annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program conducted by IoT Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in today's global IoT market. The IoT Breakthrough Awards program aims to recognize innovators, leaders and visionaries from around the globe in a range of IoT categories, including Industrial and Enterprise IoT, Smart City technology, Connected Home and Home Automation, Connected Car, and many more. This year’s program attracted more than 4,000 nominations from companies all over the world.

“While the benefits of eSIM for IoT are plentiful, two key challenges include delivering secure global connectivity and ensuring future performance. The technology behind eSIM will be a key driver in making IoT a more attainable goal for organizations and enterprises by mitigating some of these challenges in IoT connectivity,” said James Johnson, managing director at IoT Breakthrough. “With global, future-proofed IoT connectivity that is technology agnostic and provides network access worldwide, the KORE OmniSIM meets the challenges of IoT connectivity - both globally and ensuring connectivity for the lifetime of a device. Congratulations to the entire KORE team on winning the ‘M2M Product of the Year’ award.”
